Didn't think I'd miss it .

It is becoming a reality that TY is coming to an end ..it's actually really upsetting .. I am going to admit I have been fed up for the past month but it just hit me there when I was reading my first ever blog post that this is all going to be gone soon. Yes there was a lot of hard work and my friends in fifth year think that this is easy compared to fifth year but TY has been I think just as stressful as third year in some aspects :L ..I actually loved every second of it though. Like yeah there were various projects I wasn't interested in but there was so many things I learned that I probably never would have learned if I didn't do TY. I would literally know nothing about the world at all :L . As we all prepare for our TY night it is becoming realistic that TY is over ? it's done but I'm happy because looking back on my blog posts I can see that I've put allot of effort into this year and the things that I've learned will benefit me for Life <3. I've made life long friends , and lets just say everything has changed ! nothing is the same as it was in that blog post from September. The advice I would give to a 3rd year coming into TY is be prepared for a change :) Its a good change though, I think this is the year you realize who you are :) whats important ! and your goals in life :) You definitely leave TY a new person ! it's a year you'll never forget. <3

A bike ride away !

BANBA hosted a class party last Friday for all TY's it was great fun and we all had quite the bant ;) all of BANBA brought in loads of food so I decided to home bake a chocolate caramel slice dish with aisling & niamh :) it was so yum ! Till we ran out of chocolate for the top :L so using the new bike I won at green schools me and niamh cycled to tesco to get more chocolate to complete the mission ...it was so worth it ..YUM

Maths Project :)

Me and niamh are stressed out to the max about our Maths project we did the statistics of the Cheltenham gold cup horse races and how the sex & colour would have an effect on the odds of the horses winning ! We stayed up late but we got it done ! Another project over & another step towards SUMMER

SCI FEST :)

We are just back from SCI FEST yesterday where all the TY's had to present their SCI FEST project ! St wolstans did amazing & me and Emma's project won a prize it was called "carpool to School" we were delighted ! At SCIFEST we got to see many talks on kewl chemistry and got loads to eat which kept all the girls happy :) it was a great success & was aloada fun ! Anyways I've got to go do a million projects :) the stress of TY :L

Hotel Rwanda Genocide.

We just watched Hotel Rwanda and learned about the genocide in Rwanda. We saw alot of conflict throughout the movie and it was really effective. The movie made me think alot about conflict and helped me to bring it back to my daily life and who Im in conflict with. It was so sad to see so many lives taken for no reason ..and it really hit me that this actually happened ..it wasn't that long ago . We learned so much in the religion module about conflict ...and it became real to me that this happens . The genocide is so sad and moving ..there are no words to describe how I feel after watching it . Seeing corpses left behind ...they were humans they had hopes and dreams and passions and their lives were thrown away because of nothing. Their whole world fell into destruction.

Its hard to dance with the devil on your back !

Well... ! tonight all TY's are performing in the music night ! we are singing and putting instrumentals to the song ''Shake it Out'' by florence and the machine <3 We've been working on this since the start of the year so its all really exciting :) We are on our easter holidays in 2 days and the weather in Ireland is amazing at the moment which is a first :) Yesterday ! Our class Banba organised a sports day for the First Years which was really fun there was music ! , Me and Sarah were incharge of shot put ! it was a bit of fun :) and our class get to have a party of Friday because of our great organisational skills :P ...Today my Young Scientist group won a prize for the best presentation out of TY ..we got a certificate and a voucher ! :O ..we were so happy :) and can't wait for scifest now :) !

Swim a mile with a smile :D

The next exciting thing in our TY calender is swim a mile with a smile ! can't wait ! I did it last year and it was great fun! so I can only imagine what it'll be like doing it with the whole of TY ! :) I'm so excited for the Easter holidays but the sooner Easters here that means Ty is nearly over :( ! Well in English were reading the Great Gatsby by ourselves at home ! I'm excited to get into a book ! :) In geography we're learning how to Map our Round the World project ! on google maps and it was tough at the start but now its great ! although we're not doing that many random things ATM ! Theres never a second that's boring :) In mini company were branding and marketing our own Cereal which is so fun ! :) and In home ec were creating our Dream Room ! with various colour schemes and learning about the art of interior design ! :) well better get a move on with all these projects :)

Quit yo jibba jabber u ain't hurt ! -.-

Well yesterday we had an amazing day ! all TYs were shipped off to Army braveforce training ! it was so much fun although very tiring !  We started off running then we came to some tunnels ..then there was mud :O that we had to crawl in then there was uphill running and swimming through ditch water :L basically we were doing army training for the day ! 3.5 Kilometres of obsticles and jumping and running it was so fun ! such a rewarding feeling when your finished though ! :) I slept well lastnight anyways :) . Tommorow we have La glas it means green day its for St.Patricks day our whole school dresses up and gets into the spirit ! all the TYs are going to look pretty crazy tommorow :) should be good and then a nice long weekend to finish off this tiring week :D can't wait :)

Columbe Columbe Columbe

Well our first day back to normal school life and we are sent to the library to learn how to play the Jembe drum ! It was so intresting we learned loads of calls and responses beats and about the drum and how its totally different to the Bongo ! although the Jembe isnt very well known in our part of the world ! apparently it is very popular in Africa and it is a big part of their culture ! :O it was a really intresting day :) and was a bit of class bonding time aswell ! :)

What a disappointment !

Well last week T.Y.s were on their work experience. I was so excited to go to the local vet down the village as I have wanted to be a vet so badly ! since I was younger . I was so shocked at the experience .. ! they were not welcoming atall and had nothing for me to do ! I observed surgeries which was so intresting but I was left to do nothing but mop the floors for the rest of the day ! They were really badly organised and I didnt like how they treated me atall ! I would not recommend anyone to go their ever .. ! I didnt really learn anything about myself either because I've always wanted a career in veterinary and with the experience I had it just left me feeling muddled and confused about my future career :(

STARBUCKS , KILDARE , PILGRIMAGE

Hey :) had a great day 2 days ago we went on a pilgrimage to Kildare town :) We went here as we have been doing so much work on St.Brigid the patron saint of Kildare that the teachers shipped us off to Kildare and lets just say its a trip we won't forget .. First we went to the tourists office where we watched a short film on how St.Brigid made her mark on this historical town :) then we went to the church of Ireland cathedral , where close by we saw Brigids kitchen and a huge round tower :O after that we took a short walk to Starbucks where I freshened up with a tall hot chocolate extra cream ;) it was lovely and all the T.Ys chatted over everything :) then we visited Brigids first well where everyone blessed themselves with the water and prayed :) then after another long walk we came to an abrupt stop at a gorgeous garden :) there we could see the broth bride hanging off the trees and as we all gathered around there was a great sense of peace and calmness as we could hear the river flow :) On the bus home .,, it was quiet all the T.Ys were finally tired and speechless ! I slept well that night anyways :L

CORKKKKKKKKKKKKKKKK :)

Hey Just heard the news this week that the drama we preformed in Mullingar got through to the finals :) tich miller was our play ! It is a play based on a poem highlighting the issue of a girl that gets bullied throughout her childhood . I was Tich and I am so proud of our whole group and how we pulled it together only days before the competition. The finals are on the 3rd of March and we are all so excited for it ! They are in Cork so hopefully we'll have some fun along the way too :) so now we've to work ten times harder because we want to do really well :€

st. Brigid success :)

ST.Brigids day was yesterday :) and my T.Y. class banba designed the prayer room and we saw it today and had a prayer service there ..it was peaceful and it was really nice to see what we created :) There were wall hangings , A timeline of st.Brigid , a well :) , a st.Brigids cross :) and lots more ..its magical to see what we created :) well done BANBA

Goodbye January blues :)

HEY .:) today is the 1st of February :) St.Brigids day :) The patron Saint of kildare . All the T.Y's are being shipped off to her well next Tuesday as we have been working hard on various projects about her :) It should be great fun :) We are preparing for mini company judging aswell which is alot of stress :/ In english were learning about the novel of ''The Great Gatsby'' and its so intresting can't wait to start it ! Also in geography were making brochures on diseases from around the world ! I chose Leprosy and its so intresting did you know it is carried by armadillos ? :L also we did our young scientist presentations this week and got to see which group entered what :) its so intresting ! The third years are doing their mocks as I type and its hard to beleive that that was me last year :/ time went flying and overall im happy I chose T.Y :) T.Y. is flying by ...its so sad soon it'l be midterm ! Can't wait ! I also got my work experience for the week after we come back after midterm ! im going to Beaufield Veterinarian in Celbridge ! Veterinary is what I've always wanted to do since I was younger ! I can't wait ! so much to look forward too :) x

Hey everyone ! havn't got the chance to blog  been so busy we had a competition in mullingar  !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! twas an experience and a half ! loved it we had to preform our play which was based on the poem ''Tich Miller'' by wendy cope ! ...it has the urgent theme of bullying and isolation throughout and it was a poem that at the end meant alot to us. I was Tich Miller and had a great experience as I have never been a main part  before in a play in my whole entire life ! ..it was great I had a monlogue and everything :) hope we get far in the competition we put alot of work into it . At the moment our whole religion class is making a display in the prayer room for St.Brigids day :) I'm on the art group and it's great fun ! also I've just found out that I got my second work experience today in a veterinary clinic and I cannot wait because I want to be a vet when im older :) anyways there is never a dull moment in T.Y  its always great fun :)

Young scientist ..careers wahhhhhHH !

Hey there :) just back to school after a great friday at the RDS young scientist :) ..it was fenomenal ..we met loads of new people and found out some great sciency information ! :) ...the girls who got through from our school represented st wolstans amazingly :) and there rpojects were really good :) . This week were trying to get the finishing pieces of our drama done for our drama competition in mulingar ! should be good craic ! ..But if your thinking of ever doing TY do not be fooled ... its not a doss ...your doing stuff 24/7 its great fun but still alota work ! . Just finished our class of careers which really put the pressure on as we have to get our second placement for work experience and we have to be thinking of our leaving cert subjectttsss ! :O scary stuff alrite ... scary like TY is nearly over already its been an amazing year :) and i think it was a year that really stood out in my life :)

From santa ...to school ... ugh .

Hey : ) well its a monday yuck .. i miss my bed already ... but luckily its okay not sucha bad day ! : ) and plus its only a four day week :) because we have the young scientist which should be amazing ! and goodluck to all the girls from wolstans taking part :) ..and to those who didnt get in ! we still have sci fest :)!.. well it was a great christmas anyways ! :) and hopefully 2012 will be amazing for all T.Y.s :) A BIG SHOUT OUT TO AISLING DEVITT ! for her birthday :)! were starting our new activities this week :) which should be funn ! :) well anyways better go talkches !
